Enjoy the Little Things

Tim and I have been quite busy lately, its been difficult to put words to blogosphere. He’s been working non-stop and I have been on a whirlwind last week of work before the holiday. Part of my week included a 15-hour trip to Kansas City, Missouri and back.

Since its been so crazy, we haven’t had time to catch up on things — things like Christmas shopping, taking baby bump photos, or getting our apartment ready for visitors. (Mom and Adam are coming in town for the holiday to visit.) Now that I’m off work, I’ll be able to catch up on some of this and spend some quality time with Tim, family, and Oliver.

Yesterday, in particular, gave us a chance to slow down and put life into perspective. We received sad news that a family member passed away. We both are taking the time to appreciate what we have in this world and that we’re bringing a new life into it. Tim and I both had a very special connection to this family member, it breaks our heart that we won’t be able to see him again at family reunions and gatherings. We send all our love to our family during what is an incredibly hard week.

We hope you all get to spend time with family and friends and your beloved fur babies.

My mom and I, technical geniuses that we are, finally figured out how to get the gender reveal video from her phone on to the interwebs. Please enjoy this special moment. :)

Prepping For Baby Girl

Tim and I are starting to plan for everything in our life that is going to change once baby girl arrives. First on the list is find a new place! We’ve lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Santa Monica for over 2 years now, and we LOVE our place. Here is a photo from move-in day back in 2012.

But that one-bedroom is just not big enough for a family 3.5 (that .5 being Oliver.) We’re looking at all our options — renting vs. buying. The one thing we do know is that we’re moving back to the Valley. San Fernando Valley that is. We lived in Burbank for a good 3 years and moved away in 2012 to be near the beach. And now it looks like we’re heading back!

We’ve been talking to a realtor who can show us all that is available in the areas we’re interested in. We’re hoping to find a little 3 bedroom house with a yard for Oliver. But we’ll see what the market has to offer. If nothing else, we can always rent a great apartment in the area.

We found some adorable 2 bedroom houses this weekend. None of them were the right fit. But it gave us a great idea of what we can expect. Looking forward to finding our perfect first home!

Now we’ll leave you with another Bump of the Week.

Week 14:

We got to hear baby girl’s heartbeat at week 14. The doctor says she is perfect and has a very strong heartbeat. She is growing and growing and I’m finally getting a real bump. Though it could just be all the holiday weight I’m packing on. :)

Until next time!

The Stardust Has Settled...

And we are having a GIRL!!!

We had an amazing time with our family and friends at the gender reveal. Everything was perfect. From the minute we got the cake:

and drove the longest 20 minute drive we have ever driven… See Tim and balloons stuffed in the car doing everything he can NOT to drop the cake:

Then decorating and setting the table:

To visiting with family we haven’t seen in over a year and then finally cutting into the cake to see PINK telling us our life will forever be changed:

We can’t thank our family and friends enough for joining us for such a special day. We are so glad we got to share it with so many of our loved ones.

(P.S. If you took any pictures or video at the party, please send them our way! Tim and I didn’t take many photos, so we’re hoping to get a few shots and the moment when we cut the cake.)

We are beyond ecstatic to bring a baby girl into the world. So many emotions and thoughts have run through our minds. Its going to be an amazing adventure! Truth be told — Tim is a little nervous, but he’s going to be the best daddy to our little girl. I can already imagine Tim building her a dollhouse and hosting tea parties with her. He is going to wrapped around her little finger.

Thank you again to everyone for all your support and love. This little girl doesn’t know it yet, but she has the best circle of family and friends that anyone could ever ask for.
